Port Eynon
Bank holiday weekends are our favourite weekends for camping, for all the obvious reasons! At the end of May, we took advantage by taking Friday off as well, to make a nice 4 day weekend. Perfect opportunity for a trip further afield!
I’ve been wanting to go to the Gower ever since I first heard about it some 10 years ago. Of course, we left it quite late to organise, so we had limited choice in campsites, as everything was booked up. It turned out to be a blessing, as we ended up in Port Eynon, and we both fell in love with the place.
We set off on Thursday evening and drove to Bridgend, where we stayed overnight in a pub carpark. The following morning, we had a lovely drive around the valleys, as we made our way slowly to the peninsula. The roads and views were amazing, we were so pleased we’d come off the main road.
We had a brief stop in Swansea for a morning coffee, before continuing to Port Eynon.
The drive onto the peninsula was lovely too, and we soon found our campsite. We explored the little village, and got set up. It was a beautiful place. Lovely beaches, lovely views and such a lovely little village. It was sure to be a fabulous weekend!
