Beach Buggin’ 2016
Following Bug Jam 30! it was time for a smaller, quieter show which required almost no travel at all. It was time for Beach Buggin’ 2016!! It’s a local, one day show on the seafront in Southsea, and we were on the club pitch with local club PKW (Portsmouth Kleine Wagens).
As it’s a local show, we decided to camp locally for the weekend, with the added benefit of going home for a shower. On Sunday morning , we were meeting other vans on the Seafront in Eastney, so we had an early start to pack up camp, get home, shower, and get ready to go out again.
It started out a bit cold, grey and damp but it soon warmed up and the sun came out. This local show seems to grow every year, and this year saw 1000’s of vans, beetles, buggies and various other VWs parked up on the common again. There is always a great market of stalls including a swapmeet, and some great entertainment.
Our local camping trip was fun too, being parked up straight onto the beach, watching the tides come and go, and even getting a little visit from a curious seal who was keen to find out what was going on on the beach at that time of night.
